The development of geotechnical and topographic supporting
services are basic activities in the execution of road
works, indispensable for the conclusion of constructions,
with quality in attending the foreseen norms and specifications.
Kaeme
also disposes of a variety of equipments to perform
the constructuions supervision with high quality, such

- Benkelman beams, to perform milestone of flexible
deflections;
- Rotations, to extract solid proof in pavements.

Kaeme is also a
company specialized in the application and monitoring
of steel slag in road pavement, either as primary coating
or as pavement base and sub-base. It is also a technical
consulting enterprise of some metallurgical companies
in Brazil.
In the State of
Espírito Santo (BRA) Kaeme joins the Program
called “New Tracks”, from ArcellorMittal
Tubarão. Kaeme monitors the application of steel
slag as a primary layer at Grande Vitória and
country City Halls.
Steel
slag treatment
Kaeme
and ArcelorMittal Tubarão developed a reduction
of steel slag expansion potential process generated
within the plant. This treatment consists in slightly
damping and in daily refreshing the slag, using specific
granulometry until it reaches the reduction of its expansive
potential.

Research:
Development research of the metallurgical industry co-product
to be used in road pavement. One of Kaeme activitiese
is the technical support in the research developed by
IPR (Institute of Road Research) for steel slag in sub-base
and ground paving, aiming at the development of norms
techniques. Such support consists in the execution of
geotechnical and results analyses in partnership with
IPR, and in the developing of technical reports.
